So long, “Reading” page!
So long, “Reading” page!
I have removed the Reading page from my main blog. It is something I had decided upon a week to two ago but only just now got around to actually doing.
I have been skeptical all along about whether it even makes sense to me to track the books I have read at all. I barely even go back and look at the list and the few times that I have, I do not find much of anything useful to take away from it.
I also do not do end-of-year round-up types of posts, so I don’t even have that need.
More than that, though, I find I do not like the practice of publicly posting lists of all the books that I have read or my TBR pile or whatever. It feels performative to me. Reading (for me) is a personal pursuit and I do not like the idea of making it a public affair. If I want to post individually about a specific book, I can still do so; it feels different than a list.
That's all just me, though, and not a judgement of what anyone else is doing. If you want to track all the books you read and find value in making that list public, go for it.
