Filling the page

Some days I just don't feel like writing and it seems like I'm only trying to fill up the page. I mostly do it anyway, because I know there is supposed to be some merit to that—priming the pump or whatever—and that theoretically if I do it enough then something will start to emerge at some point.

It still feels like going through the motions a lot of the time, though.
